Dorothy Blake Scott Mccain

Dorothy Blake Scott McCain, 93, of Presbyterian Home, Clinton, SC and formerly of Decatur, GA died Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
Born and raised in Calhoun Falls, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur J. Blake, Jr. and Hallie B. Blake and she was the widow of Dr. Paul M. McCain.
Mrs. McCain attended Winthrop College. She was very active in Decatur Presbyterian Church as Circle Chairman and a member of the Pastor’s Aides. When she moved to Clinton, SC, she became a member of First Presbyterian Church and continued to build a legacy through Loving service of her family, her community and her Lord.
Surviving are her brother, Irvin Blake; her sister, Hallie Howard; children, Sally Clark (Ben) of Rising Fawn, GA, Evelyn Velvin (Lawrence) of Virginia Beach, VA, Grier Payne (Welby) of Smyrna, GA, and Jim McCain (Cathy) of Norcross, GA; grandchildren, Callie Frierson (Cartter), Anna Kay Toms (Tim), Scott Pritchard (Jenn), Hope Wood (Coy), Susan Foley (Hank), Chris McCain, and Laura Dostie (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Jared, Blake, Scotty, Patty Ann, and Crockett.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was also predeceased by first husband, Leonard A Scott, Jr and brother, Wilbur Blake, Jr.
The family would also like to express appreciation for the care provided by Presbyterian Home and Southern Care Hospice and the many kindnesses of the home staff.
There will be a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, Clinton on Friday, March 7 at 2pm with a reception to follow.
A graveside service will be held in the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, GA on Saturday, March 8 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
