Dorothy M. “Dot” Pinson, 83, of 204 E.Centennial St., Clinton went to be with the Lord on Jan. 24, 2010 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
Born in Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Eugene B. and Velma H. Pinson, Sr.
A graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1943, she attended Presbyterian College, and retired after 40 years as office manager of the Dobbins Insurance Agency. She was a lifelong member of Broad Street United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher in the children’s department, was a communion steward for many years, and a charter member of the Wesleyan Service Guild. She was a loyal Clemson fan.
Surviving are a loving sister, Mary Frances Pinson of the home; a nephew, John Patrick (Marti S.) Pinson of Canton, Ohio; a niece, Janice (H.F. “Bunky”) Blalock of Marietta, GA; and Ann B. Pinson, widow of Gene B. Pinson, III of Laurens; six special great nephews who were very devoted to her, Justin Eugene and Joel Patrick Pinson of Laurens, John Patrick II and Brett Austin Pinson of Canton, Ohio, and H.F., III and Robert Blalock of Atlanta, GA; and two dear friends, Ann Blakely McLeod of McBee, and Roslyn Cason Martin of Clinton.
She was predeceased by a brother, Eugene B. “Red” Pinson and wife, Toni Pinson; a sister, Ann Hart Pinson; and a nephew, Eugene B. “Big Gene” Pinson, III.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton followed by a visitation.
