Dr. Ann Elizabeth Smith Mack, age 59 of 335 Fairview Church Road, died
Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in the Hospice House of Clinton.
She was born in Laurens, and was the daughter of the late John Richard Smith Sr. and Melda Duvall Smith.
Dr. Mack was a graduate of Clinton High School; earned a BA degree at Berry College of Rome, GA and received her Masters and Doctorate at USC Columbia Campus in Special Education.
Dr. Mack began teaching in 1972 and retired in 1995. She taught at Whitten Center and School Districts 50 and 52 in Greenwood to special needs children. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Billy Mack whom she married December 20, 2007; three brothers, John Smith, Jr. and wife, Katie of Ogden, UT, Fred Smith of Princeton, SC and Glenn Smith and wife, Lamatrell of Clinton; mother-in-law, Charlotte M. Williams and husband Michael Williams of Columbia; and sister-in-law, Tamara Woodall and husband Chris of Chapin;
six nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 21st at 1:00 p.m. in Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with burial in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Laurens.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
