Dr. Judson Augustus Davis, age 82 loving husband of Marian Kirkland Davis for 55 years, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006.
He was born in Elizabethton, TN and was the son of the late Robert and Virginia Glover Davis.
Dr. Davis was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and finished Dental School in Memphis, TN. before serving in the U.S. Army.
He came to Clinton to open a practice at Whitten Center and also start his own private practice.
Dr. Davis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, one of the founding members of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Superintendent of Sunday School and Elder Emeritus.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Grinelle Davis of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Terry McGuirk of Atlanta, GA and Barbara and Danny Philpot of Alpharetta, GA; five grandchildren, Meggie McGuirk, Terry McGuirk, Missy McGuirk, Mary McGuirk and Parker Philpot.
Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather; and a devoted servant of Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.
