Edna Putnam Ballard, age 93, widow of Rufus William Ballard, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Trident Health System in North Charleston.
She was born in Laurens County, SC and was a daughter of the late William Guy and Elizabeth Cooper Putnam. Mrs. Ballard was retired from her only job with Greenwood Mills Joanna Plant after 44 years of faithful service, and was a member of 70 years of the Joanna First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Libby Walters; her granddaughter, Ashley Walters; her grandson, Josh Walters and wife Katie and their six children, AnnaJaye, Abigail, Abel, Asher, Ari, and Anthem Walters all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Candi Shehit and husband James and their six children, Michael, Colton, Emily, Addison, London and Elijah all of Maize, KS; a sister, Callie Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Louise Cole, J.B. Putnam, Murlee Farmer, Clyde Putnam, and Fred Putnam; and her son-in-law, Wayne Walters.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church of Joanna with burial to take place at Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1 to 2 PM.
