Edna Silvers Melton

Edna Silvers Melton, age 76, of 1123 Springs St. died Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
She was born in Steecoah, NC and was the daughter of the late Burgeon and Lora Jane Briggs Silvers.
Mrs. Melton was retired from West Point Stevens Co. and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Mack Melton of the home; two daughters, Carolyn Henry of Clinton and Linda Bullard of Whitmire; a sister, Ada Crowe of Newberry; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Walter Mack Melton, Jr.; three brothers, Harley Silvers, Roy Silvers and Lloyd Silvers; two sisters, Maebelle Rochester and Ruby Finney.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Heritage Wesleyan Church with interment in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home on Spring Street.
