Edward Walter Gibson

Edward Walter Gibson, age 81, of Whitmire, SC, widower of Kay Gibson, passed away, Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his home.
Born May 13, 1943 in Swain County, NC, he was a son of the late James Walter and Hettie Roland Gibson. Edward retired from Whitten Center as their postal carrier. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Stacey Hansel (Shannon) of Whitmire; his grandchildren, Joshua Corley (Brandi), Jennifer Michelle Dye (Stephen), Payton Hansel, and Sarah Gibson; his great-grandchildren, Alleigh Corley, Gauge Gibson, Cheyenne Dye, Ember Corley, Salem Corley; and his sister, Mary Alice Nelson.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael “Mickey” Gibson.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Whitmire Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Weaver officiating.
