Eileene Fuller Brehmer, 89, widow of Laurence J. (Jud) Brehmer, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the Hospice House in Clinton. She was born in Russell County, Va., and was the daughter of the late Jettie Ratcliffe and George Kindred Fuller.
Before she married in 1945, Mrs. Brehmer was a court reporter and paralegal in Baltimore. She and her husband moved first to Charlotte then settled in South Carolina.
Mrs. Brehmer was very active in and loved her church, First Baptist of Clinton. She served as Sunday School teacher, WMU leader, and church recording secretary. She was a member of Moye-Truluck Circle, VIP’s, Carolina Wren Garden Club, and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She was first woman from Clinton to hold a life membership in the SC State Garden Club.
Mrs. Brehmer is survived by a son Laurence (Larry) J. Brehmer and his wife Donna, two grandsons, L. Judson Brehmer III, of Denver, Co. and Dr. William (Bill) P. Brehmer of Charlottesville, Va.
She was predeceased by her brother George K. Fuller, and 3 half sisters, Eura Thompson, Gaynelle Boyd, and Kazel Harmon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, at First Baptist Church, with burial following at Bush River Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held before the service at 2:30 in the First Baptist Church fellowship hall.
