Elizabeth DeShields Byars, age 87, of 8034 Hwy 92, and widow of Robert L. Byars, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Lanford and was the daughter of the late Boyd and Edna DeShields. She was a member of Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church.
Elizabeth was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Libby Crawford and Linda (Mike) Senn of Lanford; a brother, Billy DeShields of Lanford; four grandchildren, Amy Hudson,
Michael (Jodi) Senn, Kim (Tim) Workman, and Michelle Runyans; and eight great-grandchildren, Dawson Foster, Mackenzie Runyans, Taylor and Jordan Hudson, Parker and Karlie Workman, Brooklyn and Ashlyn Senn.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy DeShields and a son-in-law, Ted Crawford.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her loving and dedicated caregivers of eight years, Vickie Crain, Susie Young and Naomi Nelson. Also to Regina Bryson and the nurses of Hospice of South Carolina.
A private service will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, at Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Ralph Byars.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Libby Crawford, located at 296 Garrett Road, Enoree, and will receive friends at the home on Tuesday, January 23rd from 4 to 7 PM.
