Elizabeth G. (Dolly) Wham

Elizabeth G. (Dolly) Wham died July 19, 2012 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Born in Asheville, NC on July 27, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Brooks Goodman and Nellie Miller Goodman. A graduate of Winthrop College, Mrs. Wham was predeceased by her husband, James Mellette Wham, Sr., a grandson, two brothers, and one sister.

Mrs. Wham is survived by one daughter, Mary W. Thomas (C.P.) of Columbia; sons, James M. Wham, Jr. (Patricia) of Mountville, George S. Wham (Jane) of Clinton, Joseph W. Wham (Karen) of Mountville; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one brother, James W. Goodman of Mountville.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Mountville Presbyterian Church after a private committal service. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mountville Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, Mountville Baptist Church Building Fund, Laurens County Memorial Home or the charity of one’s choice.
