Elizabeth Jane Ray Bridgeman age 75, of 154 Sunset Blvd. died Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Clinton and was the daughter of the late Thomas Clayton and Willie Cox Ray.
Mrs. Bridgeman received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Winthrop University. She taught school for 27 years and retired from Laurens School District 56. She was nominated multiple times for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers by her former students, who loved her dearly.
She also was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was passionate about all animals and especially her pets.
Surviving are her sons, Brian Bridgeman and wife, Donna, and Darin Bridgeman and Jenny Bridgeman, all of Clinton; four grandchildren, Kaley Maree Bridgeman, Bindy Kate Bridgeman, Emily Elizabeth Bridgeman and Jenna Clayton Bridgeman.
She was predeceased by her infant brother, Thomas Flynn Ray.
Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 2:00 p.m. in the Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Donna Bridgeman, 3016 Milam Road in Clinton.
