Elizabeth Lee Deyton Copeland age 79 of 1098 Renno Rd. died Monday, March 27th at her home.
She was born in Chappells and was a daughter of the late John Fonzo and Lillie Harvey Deyton.
She graduated from Mountville High School and from the Medical University of S. C. Nursing School, Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC in 1948. A Registered Nurse, she started her nursing career at Blalock Hospital and retired from Whitten Center as a Nursing Supervisor. She was a member of Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, James M. “Buddy” Copeland of the home, children all of Clinton, Jimmy and Debbie Copeland, Joy C. and John Prather, John M. and Donna Copeland, David T. and Jackie Copeland, Tim and Roxanne Copeland, Mary C. and Ernest Gilliam; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Spencer Charles Deyton of Rock Hill.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Helen Deyton Merchant, a brother, John Fonzo Deyton, Jr. and a great-grandchild, Taylor Paige Copeland.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 30th at 3:00 p.m. in the Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church with burial in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home.
