Elizabeth Stewart Hunter, 88, of 888 Ora Road, Gray Court, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at her residence after a short illness.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Union County, the daughter of the late Willie D. and Mary Bailey Stewart.
She was a secretary in the S.C. Comptroller General‘s office for many years and had retired from the Laurens 55 School District office. She was a member of the Ora Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and she loved her family very much.
Surviving are two brothers; Bobby G. Stewart of Union, Douglas Stewart of Lockhart, step-son, Joe Ben Hunter, III of Ora and a step-daughter, Martha Jean H. (Maurice) Beckham of Greenville, 12 step-grandchildren, 13 great step-grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hunter was predeceased by two husbands, Benjamin B. Betsill and J. Ben Hunter, Jr., two brothers, George Harry Stewart and Everett Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ora Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Union.
The family will receive friends from 12:30- 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
