Eloise Lowe McElveen, age 90 of 3582 Hidden Lake Dr., and formerly of Clinton and the widow of Thomas R. McElveen, Sr., died Friday, October 27th in the Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC.
She was born in Union, SC and was the daughter of the late Daniel Thomas and Mary Ann (Mollie) Roberts Lowe.
Mrs. McElveen retired from Clinton Mills, Lydia Plant after 31 years of service and was a member of the “Old Timer’s Club”. Mrs. McElveen worked as a “Blue Lady” at Presbyterian College for 25 years retiring in 2001. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, James Parrott Chapter and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton.
Surviving are one son, Thomas R. (Butch) McElveen, Jr. and wife, Karen of Garden City, SC; three grandsons, Thomas R. (Mac) McElveen and wife Tonya of Kingstree, SC, Alan McElveen and wife, Laura of Summerville, SC and Mallory Kirby and wife Tammy of Timmonsville, SC; five adored great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler & Hannah McElveen & Jordan & Ashton Kirby.
She is also survived by “children of her heart” Patti Eason, Fritz and Virginia Taylor, Margaret Barker, Bill Danner and the most wonderful caregiver, Linda Pangburn.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Oct. 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Clinton with burial in the Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
