Eloise Von Hollen Blalock

Eloise Von Hollen Blalock, age 95 a resident of Langston House died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Eagan, GA and was the daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Anderson Von Hollen.
Mrs. Blalock had been a resident of Clinton since her early years, and was the widow of Frances Blalock, who predeceased her by almost 6 years. They were married for 65 years.
Mrs. Blalock was an Alumna of Lander University in Greenwood, and after a short working career in Columbia, returned to Clinton. She married and became active in First Presbyterian Church of Clinton, where she was a dedicated member for approximately 70 years. During those years, she participated in almost every ministry of the church including Sunday School Teacher, and virtually every position in the Women in the Church, including President. She received an Honorary Lifetime Membership Award from the Women in the Church for her contributions and faithfulness.
She was also an avid and accomplished bridge player as well as an avid gardener. The proliferation of flowers in her yard was often called the “Showcase of Clinton”. She was also a Charter Member of the Cotillion Club of Clinton.
Surviving are her two sons, Henry Blalock of Clinton, along with his children, Jordan Blalock of Clinton, and Jessica Blalock, a student at Winthrop University; and H. F. “Bunky” Blalock, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Atlanta, GA along with their children, H. F. Blalcok, III and Robert Blalock both of Atlanta and four great grandchildren, Hollen, Hannah, Gracyn and Jocelyn all the children of Robert Blalock.
The family will greet friends in the Parlor of the First Presbyterian Church, Saturday, Jan. 22nd at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service in the church sanctuary at 2:00 p.m.
