Elvira Smith Tiensivu, age 88, of Clinton, SC, widow of David Terry Tiensivu, went to be with our Lord, Friday, January 19, 2024 at NHC of Clinton, SC.
Born on April 4th, 1935, in Laurens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Cletus Smith and Onie Harrison Smith. Elvira was always motivated by success; beginning as the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Hickory Tavern High School, moving to Virginia for work opportunities, Maryland, and finally returning home in retirement to South Carolina.
She is survived by three daughters, and one son: Janice Godfrey, Pamela Brown, Leslie Starnes, and Eric Tiensivu; her four grandchildren: Christopher Brown (Tyler), Ashley Poole (Ryan), Shannon Mariche (Juan), and Anthony Starnes; her seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Elvira was the last of 5 children, preceded in death by her siblings, Merron Hentz, Ada Beavers, Charlie Smith, and Maledia Cole. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Pamela Mistach.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 27th, 2023 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Jose Hugo Ruiz Marentes officiating.
The family will greet visitors prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Arlington National Cemetery.
