Ernest G. Jennings

Ernest G. Jennings, age 93, widower of Dorothy Stacy Jennings, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Newberry Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 27, 1927 in Whitmire, SC and was a son of the late Fred and Lillie Cook Jennings. He was Veteran of the US Navy having served in both WWII and the Korean War, and member of the Roseboro Lodge #195. He was a former employee of International Paper Company and later retired from Bowater Paper Company after 45 years of service.
Mr. Jennings is survived by his grandchildren, Nichole Proctor of Greenville and Kris Webber of West Columbia; his great-grandson Liam Gary.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Rhonda Jennings; his brothers, Otis Jennings, John William Jennings, Fred Jennings, Jr, and Gene Jennings, Sr.; and his sister, Louise Jennings Tankersley.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11 AM at the Whitmire Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rights to be performed. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire from 10 to 11 AM.
