Ernest Virgil Patterson

Ernest Virgil Patterson age 77, of 462 Milam Rd. died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the Self Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Clinton, SC and was a son of the late Arthur and Rachel P. Blackwell Patterson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Patterson was retired from Clinton Mills, Lydia Plant and enjoyed farming. He was an avid hunter and was well known as a raiser of exotic birds and trainer of national championship bird dogs. He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by five children, Dickie Patterson and wife, Cindy, Sam Patterson and wife, Alisa, Tony Patterson and wife, Kim, Flori Lawson and husband, Charles, and Pauline Page and husband, Paul; nineteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Campbell Patterson, and two great-grandchildren, Jacey and Little Jayme Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
