Eugenia Kay Johnson of 210 E. Calhoun St., Joanna, SC born August 12, 1949 went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006. She was a daughter of the late Lucille Warren of Clinton, SC.
She was a most beloved sister to Betty Scheiner of Greenville, Paul Craine of Anderson and Roger Crain of Piedmont, SC.
She was a devoted mother to her two sons, James Michael Johnson of Kinards, SC and Kevin Marshall Johnson of Waterloo, SC.
She was an adoring grandmother to her granddaughters, Savannah Johnson and Leslie Powers, grandsons, Ryan Johnson and Anthony Jones; great-grandmother to James Brewington, Taylor Brewington, Abigail Brewington and Ryleigh Bragg.
A kind and loving friend to so many, she was a nurse in the Laurens County Hospital System for 25 years and a nursing supervisor for Martha Franks Home in Laurens. She fought a courageous battle against the reoccurrence of cancer for the past two years—she remained hopeful and full of faith to the very last.
We will miss our loved one but know we will be with her again.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Rock Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Greenwood, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
The family will be at her home, 210 E. Calhoun St., Joanna, SC.
