Evangeline (Van) Godfrey, age 91, of 317 Sims St. and widow of Charles Hubert (Slim) Godfrey died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 in the Ellenburg Nursing Center in Anderson
She was born in Saluda County and was the daughter of the late Perry and Eula Prater Dukes.
Mrs. Godfrey was retired from Greenwood Mill and was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Joanna.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Jim Wood of Laurens; a brother and sister-in-law, Wardell and Evelyn Dukes of Batesburg; three grandchildren, Erik Wood, Ryan Wood and Drew Wood and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with interment in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
