Evelyn M. Evans

Evelyn M. Evans, age 76 of 611 Milton Rd. and widow of Alvin B. Evans died Tuesday, Sept. 9th in Ridgeway at the Fairfield Health Care of Laurel Bay.
She was born in Newberry County and was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Hendrix Merchant.
Mrs. Evans was retired from Greenwood Mills and was a member of the Joanna First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Donnie Evans and Clevie Evans both of Joanna; two sisters, Ruth Longshore of Aiken and Shirley Oxner of Cross Hill; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Ronnie Evans, Ricky Evans and Kenneth Evans and one brother, G. W. Merchant.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Sept. 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the Joanna First Baptist Church with burial at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of her son, Donnie Evans, 103 James Rd., Joanna, SC
