Sarah Evelyn “Peggy” Reddeck
Sarah Evelyn “Peggy” Reddeck age 84 widow of Lawrence Smith “Pinky” Reddeck, Jr, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in the National Health Care Center of Clinton.
She was born in Clinton on October 3, 1924 and was a daughter of the late John Griffin Pitts, Sr. and Ellen Irene Adair Pitts.
Mrs. Reddeck, a lifelong member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, was active in Women’s Circle, United Methodist Women, and VIMS. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary and UDC. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and Lander University in 1970, and was a teacher for Laurens School District #56 for over 28 years.
Surviving are two sons, John Michael (Dianne) Reddeck of Clinton, Larry Griffin (Paula) Reddeck of Lake City; three granddaughters, Jessica (Charles) Reddeck Stinson of Mt. Pleasant, Claire (Aaron) Reddeck Bowman of Easley, Mary Lauren Reddeck of Lake City; great grandson, Hayden Reddeck Stinson of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Martharene Pitts McMillin of Atlanta, GA and Marian Pitts Ramage of Clinton and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and a sister, Joyce Pitts Holcomb and a brother, John Griffin Pitts, Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home in Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Rosemont Cemetery with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in Broad Street United Methodist Church.
