Florence Howard Norris, age 88, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in The Governor’s Inn Retirement Residence in Newport News, VA.
She was born in Clinton, SC and was a daughter of the late Arthur Howard and Nelle Riddle Howard. Mrs. Norris was a graduate of Clinton High School and worked, until her retirement in 1984, at Collins and Aikman, formerly C. W. Anderson Hosiery Co. in Clinton.
Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Houston Norris.
She is survived by her son, Mike Norris and wife, Leianne of Laurens; her daughter, Sandra Norris Parks and husband, Bill of Newport News, VA; her sister, Kathleen Howard Weir and husband, William of Clinton; grandchildren, Kelli Michele Norris of Laurens, Allison Parks Hale and husband, J. T. of Newport News, VA, Dr. Meredith Parks Owen and husband, Randy of Williamsburg, VA and Will Parks of Norfolk, VA; great-granddaughter, Sidney Hale of Newport News, VA and step-granddaughter, Deborah Kellett and her children, Hillary, Elijah and Zaine Kellett of Laurens, SC.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28th 2007 at Broad Street United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton, SC.
