Frank (Dickie) Childers, age 62 of 283 Fairview Church Road, died Thursday, Jan 26th in the Hospice House of Greenwood.
He was born in Gaffney and was a son of the late Charlie J. and Mary Scruggs Childers.
He was a retired employee of Sumter Builders Inc. and a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Newberry.
Surviving is his wife, Jean Gantt Childers of the home, one son, Frankie Childers, Jr. of Laurens, four daughters, Recynthia Childers Harriston of Kings Mountain, NC, Holly Childers and Mary Childers McCumber both of Kinards and Amy Childers Dubose of Summerton, SC; three brothers, Harry Childers of Cartersville, GA, Charles Childers of Pinehurst, NC and Wayne Childers of Shelby, NC; one sister, Lillie Mae Ruff of Kings Mountain, NC; a half-brother, Billy Short of Gaffney, a half-sister, Connie Melton of Gaffney and twenty grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Alexander.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
