Frank Middleton (Blue) Boland Jr. of Clinton, SC, age 92, died February 28, 2012. Born in Clinton, SC on September 13, 1919, he was the son of the late F. M. Boland and Ella Sproles Boland. Mr. Boland was married to Willie Earl Davidson of Clinton. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon Emeritus. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Boland retired from CSX Railroad after 43 years of service. He was an avid gardener, train enthusiast, local historian, and expert woodworker. Mr. Boland was a leader in the local community serving as a member of the Clinton City Council for numerous years, a board member of Clinton Newberry Natural Gas Authority, and a member of the American Legion Post 56. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Linda B. Bunch of Mauldin SC, Jane B. Wham and Frank M. Boland III both of Clinton, as well as six grandchildren and six great-grand children. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1st at 2PM at First Presbyterian Church, Clinton, SC, followed by burial in the Clinton Presbyterian Cemetery.
