Fred Bedenbaugh Smith

Fred Bedenbaugh Smith, 82, of Clinton, SC, husband of Susan Merideth Smith, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at his home.
Born September 29, 1941 in Newberry, SC, he was a son of the late Silas Fred and Elizabeth Bedenbaugh Smith. Mr. Smith was a Veteran of the SC Army National Guard, and retired from Clinton Mills, Norbord in Joanna, and the Presbyterian Home. Fred loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was a man of many hobbies.
Mr. Smith was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church and attended The Impact Church in Clinton.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 42 years, are his sons, Michael Smith (Lisa) of Laurens, Scott Smith (Sheila) of Clinton, and Kevin Smith of Clinton; his daughters, Crystal Brewer (Tim) of Enoree, Tonia Scott (Mike) of Trenton, and Cynthia Rice of Clinton; his brothers, Robert Smith (Patricia) of Clinton, Jimmy Smith (Betty) of Kinards, his sisters, Patsy Richardson (Danny) of Prosperity, Andy Hawkins (Marvin), Mandy Chappell, and Sandy Watson (Tommy); his eleven grandchildren and his four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Alfreida Smith Beach, and one granddaughter, Taylor Brewer.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Silverstreet Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Keith Cromer and Rev. Carroll Caldwell officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
