Fred W. McCarson, age 82 of 660 Fairgrounds Rd., died Friday, January 27th in the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Clinton and was a son of the late Joseph and Minnie Lee Seay McCarson.
He was retired from Clinton Mills; was a member of Palmetto Lodge #19, Hejaz Shrine Club, a 50 year member of Bellview Baptist Church and a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are five daughters, Rita Young of Charlotte, NC, Elaine (Joe) Smart of Laurens, Brenda Irwin of Hickory Tavern, Karen (Jimmy) Edwards of Gray Court and Cheryl (Reggie) Sentell of Cross Anchor; two brothers, Rev. C. H. McCarson of Piedmont and Sherman McCarson of Joanna, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel L. McCarson, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 29th at 2:00 p.m. in Bellview Baptist Church by Rev. Barry James and Rev. J. B. Abercrombie with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the Robert Elmore Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton.
