Freida Erskine Hensley

Freida Erskine Hensley, age 86 of Whitmire, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. She was born December 27, 1930, in Union County, to the late Wade “Preach” Erskine and Leona Coleman Erskine. She was a faithful member of Evans Street Church of God in Whitmire. She dearly loved the Lord, her family and her church.
Surviving are her sons, Larry Hensley, Tony Hensley, and Donnie (Olivia) Hensley; her grandsons, Seth Hensley, Logan Hensley, Tyler Hensley, and Phillip Hensley; her sisters, Doris McCarley and Vivian Brady; a special niece, Donna Haller and many other special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald Erskine and Joel Erskine; and a special nephew, Doug Respass.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 4:00 PM followed with the burial in the Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 2017 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the Evans Street Church of God.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Annie Randolph for the love, support, and friendship given during the past several months, while helping to care for her at home. Also, they would like to thank the caring staff at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital and Hospice Care of South Carolina for the compassion shown during her final hospitalization.
