Gail Guthrie Moore

Gail Guthrie Moore, age 77, widow of Mahlon Gunn Moore, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at National HealthCare of Mauldin.

She was born on August 3, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Earl Glover Guthrie and Grace Marguerite Guthrie. Gail was a member and retired Secretary of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Clinton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Playing games with her grandchildren was always a highlight and special time for her. Gail enjoyed flowers, in particular Rio Samba roses that she loved to plant and care for. She also had a deep love of animals, especially cats, which over the years brought her great comfort and joy. She will be most remembered for her gentleness and sweet spirit that would flow to all of those around her. Her faith in Jesus was fully evident in her caring and loving of others. 

Gail is survived by her son, Kenneth Moore (Marguerite) of Greer; her daughter, Corry Garner (Andy) of Franklin, TN; her grandchildren, Graham Moore (Cindy), Daniel Moore, Corinne Garner and Benjamin Garner; dear first cousins Ron Perego (Rebecca) and Rich Perego (Sena). 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Annette Bales, her aunt Meriam Faye Perego (Norris) and her husband of 54 years who passed away February 1, 2025. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM at Raytown Baptist Church Cemetery, 4641 Raytown Road NE, Crawfordville, Georgia. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
