Garel “Train Man” Cleo Satterfield, age 91, of 1530 Highway 72 W, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Gray Court, SC and was a son of the late Robert Clee and Sallie Owens Satterfield. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was retired from the Clinton Mills.
Mr. Satterfield is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Magdaline Bagwell Satterfield of the home; his son, Ricky Satterfield of Clinton; his four daughters, Charlene Campbell (Terry) of Clinton, Angela Cook (Robert) of Georgia, Melody Fuller (Frankie) of Clinton, Mary Beth Truelock of Clinton; his grandchildren, Lesa Campbell, Niki Kuras (Bill), Jeannie Smith (Steven), Tiffany Lawson (Jeff), Garel Christopher Fuller, Haleigh Truelock Parker, Cameron Truelock (Lauren), Jasmine Truelock (Austin); his great-grandchildren, Brittany Campbell, Selena and Jodie Kuras, Lukas Smith, Destiny and Hannah Spoone, Makayla and Triston Parker, Marlee Truelock, Paisley Cogsdill; his sisters, Sarah Coates, Barbara Moody (Raymond); and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his two daughters, Sue Rumfelt and Brenda Kay Satterfield, his brother, Robert Satterfield; his sisters, Gladys Mason and Frances Satterfield; his granddaughter, Amanda Cook; and his son-in-law, Floy Truelock.
Graveside Services will be held at Rosemont Cemetery, Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2 PM with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the home on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM, 1530 Highway 72 W, Clinton, SC 29325.
