George "Smokey" Thomas Alverson

George Thomas “Smokey” Alverson, age 64, of 941 Carlisle Whitmire Hwy, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Lexington Medical Center.
He was born in Union and was a son of the late George and Annie Bell Maybin Alverson.
Mr. Alverson was a former supervisor of the Carlisle Mill and Maintenance Tech at Walmart Distribution. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Alverson of the home; his sons, Robert Wade Thomas of Whitmire and Anthony Thomas (Christine) of Mauldin; his daughter, Anna Alverson of Clemson; his grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Thomas and Ethan David George Carroll.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 1 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
