George Link

George Link, age 85, of 711 Shands St. died Monday, October 5, 2009 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was born in Abbeville and was the son of the late George E. and Mattie Lou Pursley Link.
Mr. Link was retired from Belk stores with 44 years of service, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the European Theater.
He is survived by his wife, Marian W. Link of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, George Gregory and Cathy Link of Walhalla; a daughter, Elizabeth Diane Pinzon of Clinton; two sisters, Madge Adams and husband, Aubrey of Greenwood and Grace Davis of Abbeville; two grandchildren, Brian Gregory Link of Joppa, MD and Susan Meredith Wise of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Wise, Bethany Wise and Emma Wise.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia (Patti) Lynn Link; brothers, Rayford Link and Bill Link; sisters, Ovelle Price and Jean Link Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
