George Richard Owens, age 73, of 40 Bill’s Son Dr. died Monday, February 11, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late Lyde Copeland McDonald and the late Thomas Owens.
Mr. Owens served in the US Navy and worked as a cook.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura Jean Owens of Enoree; one step-sister, Linda Williams of Windsor, GA; a lifelong friend and employer of 32 years, Rose Wilson along with her children and grandchildren, Tony and Kerrie Wilson and Jay, Josh and Ryan Wilson also, friend and caregiver, Richard Sanders, and lifelong friend, Russell Iusti.
Mr. Owens in addition to his parents was predeceased by Jay Wilson, a son of Rose Wilson.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Tuesday, February 12 at 4:00 in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clinton.
