George Curtis Lawson

George Curtis Lawson, age 48, of 871 Little Egypt Rd. died Sunday, March 9, 2008 in the Newberry County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Whitmire and was a son of Christine Lawson of Whitmire and the late Milum Lawson.
Mr. Lawson was retired from the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office. He was the recipient of the 1996 S.C. Bravery Award from the Claims Management Association and in 1999 he received the Larry Bragg Award from the Newberry County Sheriff Office and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Terri Coker Lawson of the home; two sons, Joshua (Casey) Lawson of Whitmire, David (Tara) Lawson of the home; one brother, Gary Quillen Lawson of Saluda; one sister, Synthia Sinclair of Whitmire; and a granddaughter, Keri Lawson.
He was predeceased by a brother, Jeff Lawson.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Mar. 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church with burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
