Georgia B. Nabors Bishop, age 94, widow of William D. (Bill) Bishop, passed away Saturday, December 02, 2023, at VIA Health Partners formerly Hospice of Laurens County.
She was born March 27, 1929 in Clinton, SC and was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Sallie Turner Nabors. Georgia retired for Greenwood Mills after 44 years of service. She was the oldest continuous member of Hurricane Baptist Church, a member of the “Silver Liners”, a Sunday School Teacher, choir member, musician, and GA Leader. She volunteered at the Laurens County Hospital where she crocheted caps for infants. Georgia was especially known for her “cheese cookies” and was an avid Setback player.
Georgia is survived by her sons, William D. (Billy) Bishop, Steve Bishop (Debra), Anthony Bishop (Rudy Roberts); her daughter, Norma Bishop Patterson (Drew), her eight grandchildren, Rachel Shepard (Demetrius), Joe Bishop (Srijita), Sarah Allen, Mary McGuirt (Jon), Susannah Bishop, Jake Patterson (Katie), Sally Kate Felts (Jordan), Abby Bishop (Matt); fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sister, Mary Frances Nabors.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Hurricane Baptist Church with Rev. Jake Patterson and Rev. Tecky Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hurricane Baptist Church Sound System Fund, 2763 Hurricane Church Road, Clinton, SC 29325.
The family will be at their respective homes.
