Georgia Bee Blakely Young Thomason, 99, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at National Healthcare in Clinton.
Born on January 11, 1913, she was the youngest of seven children of the late A.B. Blakely and Mamie A. Blakely. Mrs. Thomason was married to the late John T. Young and the late Furman Thomason.
She attended Erskine College and graduated from her beloved Presbyterian College Class of 1934. She remained a life-long Blue Hose. She was a charter member of the Sun Bonnet Garden Club and Charter Regent of the Henry Laurens Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Laurens County Library for 30 years.
Mrs. Thomason attended the First Presbyterian Church over 60 years, where graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Y. Cannon; a granddaughter, Bee Young; close family members, Doris Stephens, Maxine Bass and Erskine Thomason; and numerous nieces and nephews; and close family friends.
