Gertrude Cannon Johnson

Gertrude Cannon Johnson, age 87, of Martha Franks Retirement Center and formerly of 600 Cedar Street, Clinton died Monday, October 24th in the Greenville Memorial Hospital on her 68th wedding anniversary.
She was born in Laurens County and was a daughter of the late Marshall Augustus and Stella Chandler Cannon.
She retired from Presbyterian College and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Laurens.
She was the last member of her immediate family and surviving are her husband, Olin Cannon Johnson; a son, Michael O. Johnson and wife, Mary Kay of Santa Fe, NM; a daughter, Rita J. Bixler and husband, Alfred Lyon Bixler, Jr. of Laurens; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Johnson, Matthew Warren Johnson, Alfred Lyon Bixler, III and Cannon Todd Bixler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be conducted Thursday, October 27th at 4 P.M. in the Martha Franks Rasor Chapel and the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
