Grady Herbert Worthy, Sr.

January 5, 1942 — October 15, 2007

Grady H. Worthy, Sr., age 65, of 406 N. Marion St. died Sunday, October 14, 2007 in the Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
He was born in Laurens County and was the son of the late Red Worthy and Margaret Rinehart.
Mr. Worthy was a retired Electrician and was the Pastor of the Open Arms Ministry. He was a member of the Basics Gospel Singers and had a great love of the Lord and gospel music.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Beth) Harvey Worthy of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Holly Worthy of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ronald Brookshire of Matthews, NC; three step-sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Amanda James and Rusty and Casey James all of Joanna and Justin Gray of Columbia; two sisters, Cathy Elledge and husband, Steve of Clinton and Teresa Fuller of Charleston, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a son, Grady H. Worthy, Jr. and a sister, Tiny Beaman.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Vision Tabernacle with interment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
