Harmon Eugene Jennings, age 83, of 78 Lowry St., widow of Mildred Frances Summers Jennings, died Tuesday, June 16th at his home.
He was born in Newberry County and was a son of the late Fred and Lillie Cook Jennings.
He was retired from J. P. Stevens as a weave room supervisor; was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, a Navy veteran of WW II, was retired from Army National Guard and was a member of Roseboro Lodge #195.
Surviving are his children, Harmon Eugene “Trigger” Jennings, Jr. of Whitmire, William Jeff “Battie-Cat” Jennings of Mountville and Robbie Gregg Jennings of Whitmire, a brother, Ernest Gordon Jennings of Whitmire; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Otis Jennings, John William Jennings and Fred Jennings, Jr. and a sister, Louise Jennings Tankersley.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Whitmire Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday before the service at Gray Funeral Home.
