Harold Roy Darnell, age 86 of 206 W. Calhoun St., died Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was born in Joanna and was a son of the late Rufus Lee Darnell, Sr. and Evie M. Darnell Johnson .
He was retired from Burlington Mills in Batesburg; served in the Merchant Marines and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three daughters, Kay Baggett of Joanna, Phoebe Hamm of Newberry and Missy Bundrick of Clinton and one son, Harold R. (Hal) Darnell, Jr. of Joanna; grandchildren, Joey Fuller, Scott Fuller, Jason Hamm, Jonathan Bundrick, Alesia Darnell and Damon Darnell and great grandchildren, Noah Fuller, Jared Fuller, Bennett Hamm, Leah Hamm, Addi Darnell, Dawson Anderson, Haiden Anderson, Tavan Darnell and Jordan Darnell.
He was predeceased by his wife, Cleo Starnes Darnell, a grandchild, David Hamm and a great grandchild, Hannah Fuller.
Cryptside services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept.11th at 11a.m. Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends after the service at the mausoleum chapel.
