Harold Murphy

Harold Murphy, age 91 of 500 Pickens St. and widower of Mamie G. Murphy, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
He was born in Union County and was a son of the late Toy Grier and Pearl Bobo Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was retired from Greenwood Mills Joanna Plant as Superintendant of Maintenance, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Joanna where he served as a deacon and former Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy M. and Sherriff Dan Wideman of Greenwood; two brothers, Charles Murphy of Joanna, Louis Murphy and wife Lib of Clinton; sister-in-law, Callie Murphy of Joanna and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis and Millard Murphy.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
