ENOREE, S.C. — Harvey Freeman Whitmore Sr., 75, husband of Nellie Ann Whitmore, of 181 Long Branch Road, Enoree, SC, died July 28, 2008 at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.
Mr. Whitmore was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Enoree, son of the late Joe and Josie Whitmore. He was a graduate of Cross Anchor High School and Spartanburg Methodist College. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was retired with Kohler Company after 40 plus years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a Mason.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, Rocky Whitmore and wife Pam of Simpsonville, and Brian Whitmore and wife Jane of Laurens; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Andreea Whitmore; two sisters, Jane Mize and husband Ralph of Roebuck and Joann Burgess and husband Bobby of Enoree.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.mThursday, July 31, 2008 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Laurens with the Rev. J.D. Shiflet and the Rev. Carol Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
The family is at the home, 181 Long Branch Road, Enoree.
