Hazel Strickland Ford

Dateline – Whitmire, SC

Hazel Strickland Ford, age 70, of 30355 Hwy 72 East, and widow of Isaac “Danny” Ford, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Newberry, SC and was a daughter of the late Austin William Strickland Sr. and the late Dolly Lawson Strickland.
Mrs. Ford was retired from Walmart Distribution in Laurens and was a former employee of Monsanto in Greenwood. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, David Ford of Whitmire; a step-son Steve Ford, of Laurens; a step-daughter, Debra Hair (Dwayne) of Woodruff; two brothers, Austin William Strickland Jr., of Whitmire, and Jerry W Strickland (Toni) of Whitmire; a sister, Betty Reardon (Red Dog) of Whitmire.
She was predeceased by a brother, David Strickland.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11th, at 1 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Strickland, Jeff Strickland, David R. Strickland, Mike Senn, Cory Sapp and Eric Hair.
The family will be at Mrs. Ford’s home, 30355 Hwy 72 East, Whitmire, SC.
