Helen Bailey Starnes

Helen Bailey Starnes age 88 passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the National HealthCare of Clinton.
She was born in Whitmire and was the daughter of the late Stanley B. and Arminia Trent Bailey.
Mrs. Starnes retired as a Supervisor from Carlisle Finishing, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitmire where she was active in Young People’s Department. She considered her family as her greatest accomplishment in her life.
Surviving are her two sons, Thomas H. Elrod and wife, Nancy D. Elrod, Stanley M. Elrod and wife, Linda C. Elrod all of Winston Salem, NC; her daughter, Donna E. Whitlock and husband, D. Jean Whitlock of Laurens; eight grandchildren, Stanley J. Whitlock and wife, Leslie, Angela E Sams and husband, Joel, Brian T. Whitlock and wife, Tina, Michael L. Elrod, Ryan T. Elrod and wife Casey, Jacob G. Elrod and wife, Emily, D. Graham Whitlock and wife, Nicole, Adam J. Elrod and wife, Meredith; eleven great grandchildren, Rebecca Bailey Whitlock, Julie Michelle Sams, Madeline Dean Whitlock, Reaghan Marie Whitlock, Joshua Brian Sams, Crawford Thomas Elrod, Mary Trent Whitlock, Caroline Elizabeth Elrod, Coleman Ryan Elrod, Wyatt Henry Elrod and Emory Elizabeth Elrod.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 29th at 2:00 P.M. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service, a private burial will be held at the Whitmire Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Laurens, 244 W Main St, Laurens, SC 29360 or the Whitmire High School Athletic Booster Club, c/o Lynlee Thompson, 105 Academy Street, Whitmire, SC 29178.
