Frances Wardell Black, age 89, of 197 Sirrine St. and widow of Glenn A. Black
died Monday, September 21, 2009 in the Laurens County Hospital.
She was born in Enoree and was the daughter of the late Richard Edwin
and Ethel Simmons Wardell.
Mrs. Black was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, Watts Plant and was a member
of the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Keith Wardell and Jerry L. Wardell both of
Laurens; grandchildren, Denise Davis, Tina Wardell, Jeremy Wardell and Beth
Wardell; great grandchildren, Brody, Brandy and Aubrey.
She was also predeceased by a son, Michael F. Wardell and two brothers, Gibb
Wardell and John Wardell.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Sandy Springs
United Methodist Church with interment in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
