Helen Ginn Richards, age 79, of 506 Musgrove Street, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Ware Shoals and was a daughter of the late Jessie and Nola Mae Smith Ginn.
Mrs. Richards was a retired Nurse, a diploma graduate of York County Hospital in Rock Hill; worked in Bailey Memorial Hospital and Laurens County Hospital and later taught nursing for 13 years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Chesley L. Richards, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Laura Hatton of Greenwood; two sons, John Waits of Simpsonville and Eric Chalk of Asheville, NC; two step-sons, Dr. Chesley L. Richards, Jr. of Atlanta and Anthony Richards of Ninety Six; one sister, Nancy Tucker of Ninety Six; 5 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 11th at 11:00 a.m. in Rosemont Cemetery by Rev. James Roberts.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home.
