Helen T. Barden, age 72, of 614 Dixon Road, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Laurens and was a daughter of the late Henry Cortez Trammell and the late Cora Mae Waddell Pitts.
Mrs. Barden was retired from Food Lion in Virginia and then continued to work at Dollar General. She was a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Barden of the home; a son, George Smith of Altuna, PA; a daughter, Norma Ray Atkinson and husband, Greg of Cumberland, VA; two step-sons, Roger Dale Barden of Chesterfield, VA and Richard A. Barden of Richmond, VA; two step-daughters, Patricia Anne Barden of Richmond, VA and Janet Leigh Rogers of Chesterfield, VA; a brother, Cecil Trammell of Laurens; one special grandson, Stacey R. Barden; and one special great-grandson, Charles Randall Barden.
She was predeceased by a step-son, Charles Ray Barden.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, June 10th, at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church.
