Henry Talmadge Simmons

Henry Talmadge Simmons, 83, of 104 Derby Lane, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at N. H. C. of Clinton.
He was born in Abbeville and was the son of the late Henry W. and Essie B. Simmons and was the husband of Marion Smith Simmons for 59 years.
Talmadge was a partner with W. S. Weir in Simmons and Weir Masonry, Inc. of Clinton at the time of his retirement.
He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church and also a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple in Greenville.
Talmadge was a veteran of World War II and served his country in Finchaven, New Guinea with the Navy Seabees.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his three children, Patsy (Dale) Lackey of Spartanburg; Richard (Maureen) Simmons of Savannah, GA and Scott (Patsy) Simmons of Clinton. Grandchildren include Ed Lehman of Phoenix, AZ, Ben Lehman of Charlotte, NC, Telisha Belue of Spartanburg, 2nd Lieutenant Josh Simmons of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD; Cadet Corporal Joseph Simmons of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Elizabeth Simmons of Savannah, Mary Kate and Anna Paige Simmons of Clinton and great grand children, Darby and Dexter Lehman of Phoenix AZ and Sloan and Quinn Belue of Spartanburg.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Swayngham and Marian King and one brother, Allen Simmons.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 20th at 3:00 p.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church with interment in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. in Hodges Hall prior to the funeral services at the church.
The family is at the home, 104 Derby Lane.
Memorials may be made to Broad Street United Methodist Church, Bus Fund or Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC.
