Heyward R. King Sr., age 85, of Hanks Road, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018.
He was born in Clinton and was a son of the late Willie Hix and Georgia Bledsoe King. He was retired from Joanna Mill, was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and owner of Kings Grocery.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa C. King of the home; daughters, Robbin Stewart of Clinton and Myra King Turk of Sarasota, FL; brothers, Larry King and Kenneth King both of Clinton; sisters, JoAnn Sanders and Sue May both of Clinton; two grandsons, Brian McDowell and Kyle Stewart (Rose); two granddaughters, Sonya Padgett (Jamie) and Kayla Stewart; three great-granddaughters, Brittany McDowell, Kassie Stewart, and Lindsay Gambrell; three great-grandsons, Collin Stewart, Bronson Stewart, and Chase Gambrell; and one great-great grandson; Mason Millan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. King was predeceased by his sons, Danny King, Heyward King Jr. and Sammy King.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton at 3:00 PM, with interment at Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, at the funeral home.
