Hezekiah Sumpter (H.S.) Prater

Hezekiah Sumpter (H. S.) Prater, age 78, of 139 Tillman Circle, died Monday, July 10th at his home.
He was born in Saluda County and was a son of the late Eugene and Linner Goff Prater.
He was retired from Greenwood Mills and was a U. S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Slice Prater of the home, one son, Victor (Moose) Prater of San Francisco, CA; three daughters, Connie Noel and her husband, Edward of Lafayette, LA, Daphine Prater of the home and Susan Turner of Tampa, FL; one sister, Teresa King of Honea Path, two grandchildren, Michael Nobles of Laurens and Spc. John Thomas Franklin Owen (FLARNG) of Tampa, FL; great grandson, Michael (Seth) Nobles of Laurens and special friends, Bobby Brannon and wife Allen of Joanna.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, July 14th at 4:00 p.m.in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home.
